FAQ: Description of tests

Below is a description of each test option and the skills it tests. Select a test and prepare for the topics.

Test 1 (20 questions)

These tests check whether a learner can solve basic linear equations by isolating the variable using inverse operations (add/subtract, multiply/divide), including cases with negatives, simple fractions, parentheses (distribution), and combining like terms.

Test 2 (20 questions)

Test 2 measures whether learners can simplify and analyze polynomial expressions by combining like terms, using the distributive property to expand, and identifying key polynomial features (degree, leading term, constant term, and standard form).

Test 3 (20 questions)

Test 3 assesses understanding of quadratic functions and their graphs, including evaluating functions at given points, interpreting the vertex form y=a (xh) 2 +k , finding intercepts, determining the direction a parabola opens, locating vertices and axes of symmetry, and solving quadratic equations by factoring or using the zero product property.

Test 4 (20 questions)

Test 4 checks whether learners can solve systems of two linear equations in two variables and correctly classify systems as having one solution, no solution, or infinitely many solutions.

Test 5 (20 questions)

Test 5 checks foundational skill in simplifying and evaluating algebraic expressions by combining like terms, using the distributive property, and substituting given values into expressions.
